In the memory of our grandfather, Wong Ah Tiam, who died on the morning of 2nd day of Chinese New Year (27 January 2009 @ 6am), we will miss you dearly and you will always be in our heart. Rest in peace, grandpa. My grandfather who was diagnosed with diabetes long ago had his leg amputated beginning of the month. He was fighting a loosing game with the pain and finally gave up on Tuesday morning. He was admitted into ICU last Sunday, the afternoon of reunion day. He was suffering from breathing difficulty and was undergoing dialysis when we visited him before we went for reunion dinner. He was shivering and it makes my heart ache. The next day, the hospital called informing us that his heart was weak and he was on machine support, in critical condition. Doctor said that he could only hold for 2 days maximum. On Tuesday early morning, around 5.40am, I woke up to expect the worst. I was correct, but there was still hope. My grandpa's heart beat was weakening and I knew it won't b...

CNY...

...is in 2 weeks time. Prepared everything you needed? Bought new clothes? I guess this year I might have a low-key celebration on CNY. Nothing happen, just feel like staying at home if possible. Of course having reunion with families is a must but the rest of the days? Reunion with friends I perhaps if anyone would call me. Or else, you will know where to find me ;) Anyway, wishing everyone a prosperity new year. Gong Xi Fa Chai... 恭喜發財。。。

Starwalk 2008

The annually Starwalk organized by the Star was held last 2 Sundays. This year, like every other years, we wouldn't missed the event. This year we started off with the competition group (we were in the non-competition) and we finished of earlier than years before. There were at least 10 thousands of people participated. And a lot of foreigners can be seen joining the event too. Probably because a lot of factories shut down for the weekend and they are manage to join. Although we did not get anything from the lucky draw, we will not give up and will try again next year. Looking forward... Starwalk 2009...

Trip to KL

Image
Last weekend, we (my mom, Kai Xuan, Wei Howe, Hai Hui, Michelle, David, Pei Nuan and Cher Wei) went to KL to spend our long weekend. My initial plan was to go to Sunway Lagoon. My sis and bro-in-law also went there from Singapore to meet us, mainly their son. Day 1: We started our journey at 7.45am (supposely 6.30am). Luckily it was not a sunny day and the drive to KL was a leisure rather than a hectic. We stopped at Ipoh less than 2 hours later (unpredictably fast) for have a taste of the dim sum. I have to say, the experience was not really a pleasant one because the shop was too packed and we had to fit 10 people into 1 small table. As usual, my mom does not really like the situation, rather walk further down to get a breakfast at a local coffee shop. It wasn't easy for me because I was the middle person. Anyhow, I joined my mom and nephew at the coffee shop. After our breakfast, we continued our journey to Tapah. Had a stop, bought a pack of two of preserve 'jambu batu...

Crabbing

Image
Friday night, we went to Jelutong Expressway to catch crab. We reach there around 11.15pm, start setting the traps. The bait - chicken head After setting up the traps, we went to the jetty for fishing. Sadly, we did not get anything. Around 1.30am, while we were at the jetty, YS and friends started to check if we caught anything and this is what we got... The guys then struggled with the crabs so that they are able to tie them up. In the process, ..there goes the cheliped. Finally, ...and we went back without helping the others to pack... :( Sorry YS, KH, YW and another friend. Sorry guys....
