Starwalk 2008

The annually Starwalk organized by the Star was held last 2 Sundays. This year, like every other years, we wouldn't missed the event. This year we started off with the competition group (we were in the non-competition) and we finished of earlier than years before. There were at least 10 thousands of people participated. And a lot of foreigners can be seen joining the event too. Probably because a lot of factories shut down for the weekend and they are manage to join. Although we did not get anything from the lucky draw, we will not give up and will try again next year. Looking forward... Starwalk 2009...

Trip to KL

Image
Last weekend, we (my mom, Kai Xuan, Wei Howe, Hai Hui, Michelle, David, Pei Nuan and Cher Wei) went to KL to spend our long weekend. My initial plan was to go to Sunway Lagoon. My sis and bro-in-law also went there from Singapore to meet us, mainly their son. Day 1: We started our journey at 7.45am (supposely 6.30am). Luckily it was not a sunny day and the drive to KL was a leisure rather than a hectic. We stopped at Ipoh less than 2 hours later (unpredictably fast) for have a taste of the dim sum. I have to say, the experience was not really a pleasant one because the shop was too packed and we had to fit 10 people into 1 small table. As usual, my mom does not really like the situation, rather walk further down to get a breakfast at a local coffee shop. It wasn't easy for me because I was the middle person. Anyhow, I joined my mom and nephew at the coffee shop. After our breakfast, we continued our journey to Tapah. Had a stop, bought a pack of two of preserve 'jambu batu'

Crabbing

Image
Friday night, we went to Jelutong Expressway to catch crab. We reach there around 11.15pm, start setting the traps. The bait - chicken head After setting up the traps, we went to the jetty for fishing. Sadly, we did not get anything. Around 1.30am, while we were at the jetty, YS and friends started to check if we caught anything and this is what we got... The guys then struggled with the crabs so that they are able to tie them up. In the process, ..there goes the cheliped. Finally, ...and we went back without helping the others to pack... :( Sorry YS, KH, YW and another friend. Sorry guys....

OBAMA, the new President

Image
Obama Barrack will be the history as he is the first black US president. As predicted, most countries will have changes in the political issues. As expected Obama will be the president as a lot of people will support him. News from Yahoo!News WASHINGTON – Barack Obama swept to victory as the nation's first black president Tuesday night in an electoral college landslide that overcame racial barriers as old as America itself. "Change has come," he told a huge throng of cheering supporters. The son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas, the Democratic senator from Illinois sealed his historic triumph by defeating Republican Sen. John McCain in a string of wins in hard-fought battleground states — Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Iowa and more. On a night for Democrats to savor, they padded their majorities in the House and Senate, and come January will control both the White House and Congress for the fir

Free time

Image
I'm off today. A free time for myself. It felt so nice since I haven't have this kind of time for a long time. I really missed my schooling time. After school/class I would go home and have time for myself, taking nap, go for exercise, go shopping, dropped by my mom's shop and eat eat eat. But now, all I do is work work work. Even have to work overtime once in a while during weekdays and even Saturday! Looks like this Saturday I have to work again. True that I have a choice to work overtime or not but I guess I just need to get the extra income. I'm getting broke, thanks to my spending indulge. I can't seem to stop myself recently. This month alone, my credit card will charge me over 5k. Sigh. Wondering how am I suppose to pay back. Anyway, although I'm off work today, I still can't have a long sleep. Woke up at 8, have been online since then until now. I browsed Loon's blog a while before starting my writing. In his blog, he wrote that his blog viewers

Boring

I'm getting boring these days. I need to find something adventure to take part in. I need something new to experience. I need something exciting to keep me alive. I'm dying now. Dying slowly out of boredom. Sigh. I realize that my life have changed a lot since I was in schooling years. A LOT!! I have become someone serious, I took things too seriously. And I have become someone that I have no understanding of, someone that is totally different from my old self. I am trying to find my old self again. I want to be more active and adventurous.

Bad day ahead

Another month since my last entry. Early tomorrow morning (at 12 midnight today) the fuel price will drop by 15 cent, making the fuel price becomes RM2.30. It may be a drop but will the 'rakyat' be happy? We know that the market price for fuel dropped by over 70 million dollar. Why is our oil price still that expensive? The market is really bad nowadays. Singapore is facing recession. Malaysia government is having a money-spending spree. Share markets are dropping drastically. The world is changing now. How are we going to survive? Can we survive? Though I was reminded to save as this year's market will be very bad, I still haven't save any penny. My savings are fluctuating, not going up at all. I always tell myself "Don't buy things anymore" but I still spend a lot, buying books, clothes, etc. I guess, I still am weak on my will power. Probably I have to start giving my money to my mom so that she would help me save. Save now before it's too late. The

Unlucky and Stress

Stop writing for a month, my life is still the same. So far, there's nothing different to me, but I'm definitely very busy nowadays. I hardly have time for myself to sit down, listen to music while reading a book nor drinking a cup of tea. I have stopped exercising which is bad for me and I've put on weight which is worst for me. I've planned to go to gym but I would not know how long I'll be able to join ;P Anyway, these days, I felt that I'm so unlucky. First, I missed out my chance to do what I love to do, then I almost lost my memory while working (keep forgetting things). Last weekend, I was trapped in the elevator. How worst my life is going to be? I hope it will improve soon....

Sex and The City

Image
The great movie and the great series. It's a must watch movie for everyone. It's funny, sexy and full of emotions. The movie is the follow up of the series. So, book your seat at the cinema and head to watch it. Although there are certain parts that are censored, it still did not spoil the whole movie. It's really worth watching.

Looking back

This morning while I was driving to work, my favorite radio channel, MY FM was talking about the topic "Did you chose the right career?". Well, as I was listening, I can't help myself but to laugh at myself for not choosing the right road from the beginning. From the moment after SPM, I have make a lot of mistakes that lead me to who I am and what I am doing today. Being and engineer is definitely what I thought I would be. There are a lot of things that I cannot change back. I think I would have to continue doing what I am doing unless I have the courage and gut to do what I love to do. Of course, there are a lot of things I would like to do. I see a lot of successful friends and I do envy them for liking there job. I always wanted to change for something better but I just couldn't do it because I am afraid I would fail and I am worried I do not have enough salary to even feed myself. There are too much worries in my mind No wonder my gray hair is getting more. Altho

Langkawi

Image
Last Monday, I just came back from a 3D 2N trip to Langkawi. During our trip, there are certain encounters that were not pleasant but overall, it was a fine trip. We did not take the opportunity to go island hopping. We stay in Langkawi for the whole 3 days and we just went to a few places. Day 1 Our first stop after registered ourselves in the hotel we were staying, The Underwater World. Introducing... the penguins... ...and the Rockhopper. Two Rockhopper where kissing while the other watching (what a lamp post :P) ...the unusual mushroom jellyfish... ...the zebra eel on the right and snowflake moray eel on the left... Weedy Seadragon Leafy Seadragon "Pinocchio fish" according to Howe And the corals. After leaving The Underwater World, we took a stroll along Pantai Cenang and I same across the bookstore that I saw in the net selling books. I bought 2 books, Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella and Thanks For The Memories by Cecelia Ahern. I finished the first book at the end of

2 years already

Today my nephew is 2 years old. This little brat is still not going to speak up. He only "aiyebobomakokojajabukubukukungchichi.." And if you talk to him, he won't be bothered. This is my little nephew, who would bang his head on the floor when he was in crazy mood.

Happy Feet

Image
This is not about the penguin, Happy Feet. This is about the fish spa that just opened it's first shop in Penang at New World Park. For RM18 and 30 minutes, you get to enjoy the ticklish feeling of the fish eating your dead cells of your feet. Howe's leg My feet At first it was hard withstand the sensation but after around 15 minutes, we felt numb, so not much of the ticklish feeling. Haha. Enjoy it yourself. You will love it. After the spa, you can feel that your feet is smoother. Scrub your leg before you go, it's an advice from Hai Hui although I did not do that. Try it out...

Mobile vouchers - Benefitting everyone

Image
There's this mobile vouchers that benefit all of us especially the ladies and those staying in KL. Have you heard of sending a SMS to get a buy 1 free 1 from Sushi King? It is not a hoax. It is real. I used that twice now. Then I knew of the website that offer this thing. Welcome to www.mystyle.com.my. Condolence

Remember I mentioned about a manager from my company that was diagnosed with lung cancer, he died this morning and today is Friday the 13th. Is today really a bad luck day or is it just a myth? Anyone believe of superstitious? I am sad that someone I knew (although not so close) died. It's just that I have not really lost anyone that I got close to day by day even if he is a manager. It hit me that life is fragile. Just now, a colleague that I'm close to said: "Aiyah. Don't care di. Be ham sap (pervert) then. Or else die also boh tat (unworthy)." OK, this guy really is a joker. He always say ham sap things but he is a loyal guy. I really felt that if there's something that we want to do, just do it if you can. So now, I am going to try to chase my dream but there are certain things that can't be achieved at the mean time like buying a house. With bad economy, there's nothing much I can do. Just chase something that is affordable and priceless. Live lif

Kung Fu Panda

A hilarious and cute panda. Yesterday night, Howe and I went to watch the Cantonese version of Kung Fu Panda at Gurney Plaza. The movie was funny with the voice of Eason Chan as Po, the Panda. My colleagues told me that the English version is also funny. My main reason why I wanted to watch the Cantonese version was because I prefer it in Cantonese and I would love to hear Rain singing the Kungfu Fighting song suring the beginning of the credit. Watch the clip below for the Rain's making of the song.

Happy Birthday....to you...and you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU BOTH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU This song is dedicated to Wooi Min and Ker Wei. Wishing them happy many returns. Getting old di har... Haha... I'm still young :P

New hair

Image
Yesterday, Howe and I went to my usual hair saloon to get our hair done. This hairstyle is too much for me but I kind of love it. It can look shocking to many people. But nevertheless, it looks cool ;) Nice? Haha. Looks like this hair gonna stick to me for sometime before I got a normal hair back. Haha

The Orphanage...

...a Spanish horror movie (now showing in cinemas) is not bad after all. I would say, the movie is nicer than the latest Hollywood horror movie. Watch the trailer: I am an avid horror-movie-watcher. Although I am always scared to watch them but I am also the one suggest to watch. In the end, I will roll-up myself and clutch Howe's hand while my eyes are closed. So far, the most unforgettable horror movie that I have watched is The Shutter (Thai). I can still remember the story line, the girl's and the guy's face. So scare, especially the final part. Eerie... and it was based on true story. Who can that real-life guy be? As for Hollywood horror movie, the scariest was The 13 Ghost. Just because the 'ghost' looked scary. And the house are so cool and high-tech. OK. Enough of the explanation. Enjoy watching horror movie? Go to the cinema and watch The Orphanage than. By the way, we went to Cathay Cineplex (which are not so popular now). For RM17, we were able to get a

Stress and tension

Here I am, sitting in the training room waiting for people to come in so that I can start my presentation. This is the first time I have to do a presentation in the company I'm working at. I have no idea I must make a presentation after I attended an external training. If I knew earlier, I rather not attended it. Shite. I am so nervous right now. Only 1 hour for me to do the presentation with 42 slides. Better if others not coming. Sitting right in front of me is the guy at that argued with last 2 weeks. And now, another guy came in. Oh no...... I'm gonna have nervous break down.

Being confused

I have a lot of things to write but I couldn't get myself to start typing. All I know is that I'm very confused these few days. Confuse on everything. I don't know what to do and I don't know where to start. I am confuse on every little thing that come across my mind, even petty things like whether to have lunch or not. Sigh. It sucks. What has gotten to me? Everyday after work, I go home and played game until it is time to go to sleep which is after 11pm. Every morning woke up feeling very dreadful and with puffy eyes. And everyday, I don't feel like going to work, as usual. I have so many things to do at work but I hardly do anything at all. I felt so sick, so not lively, so tired of everything. But I still got a lot of things to think about and my gray hairs are getting uncountable. I have no mood to do anything. I just need some rest. I need a break. I need decision making skills. Gosh. I need a lot of things. And I need MONEY!!! Recently, I went out with friend

Penang World Music Festival

Image
Last weekend, Penang World Music Festival was held at the Botanic Garden. It was an outdoor event where everyone can sit freely everywhere. This is the first time I attended this event. Last year was the first time this event was held in Penang. It surprised me. Although it did not turn out the way I thought I would be but at least I had attended once for the event. At first I thought the event was in the Botanical Garden, the one we go for jogging. But I was surprised that there is another garden by the side of the tar road. Penangites should know which tar road I was talking about. This is the entry ticket, a souvenir for the revellers. When we went in, there are a lot of people bringing in their own stools and mats to sit on. It did not come across my mind to bring along a mat, so we sat on the staircase the whole night. For about 2 hours we sat there until I was bored so walked about the area and came across stalls selling souvenirs and a stall doing Henna Art. I have always wante

Dropped your mobile phone / iPod in water?

I've just received a forwarded email Howe. Some people do not like forwarded emails but I love them because some can be useful information, while some with cute, bizarre and funny pictures. Of course there's another type of forwarded mails like "..if you don't send this... you will get bad luck...". This kind of forwarded emails, I don't always forward to other people unless those informative. Certainly I don't believe in that whatever how many days luck. Also, there are those that needed help, forwarding mails to accumulate money. I don't really believe that works but there's no harm trying. OK, back to the topic that I wanted to say, the forwarded email that I have just received from Howe. It is some thing very useful. You may I received it from me. I would like to share it again here in case others did not seen it before. If you dropped your mobile phone or iPod into a pool of water or it is soaked with rain or any liquid, you don't have to

Bowling Tournament

Finally. The waiting is over. The tournament held last Saturday at Bukit Jambul Complex, ended pretty well. Fortunately, I did not go home empty-handed. My team won the first prize. Thanks to everyone's effort. My team members 1st game's score (mine is CW) 2nd game 3rd game (my scores going downhill) Our Operation Manager handing out the prize, RM50 voucher each person... ...and hamper. It was an enjoying event nonetheless although today I still feel dreadful at work. Haha. As usual, I only enjoy 吃喝玩乐. That is what I love the most. Hehe

Stillborn baby, foetus found

This is the headline for one of the news in The Star newspaper today under Metro North section. This is the story: PENANG: A stillborn baby boy was found dumped at a toilet by a Nepalese general worker in Komtar here. The worker was about to mop the toilet floor when he noticed a black plastic bag inside at about 10am yesterday. He became suspicious as he was carrying it outside. He then called his supervisor who contacted a security guard. The latter opened it up and saw a baby with its umbilical cord still attached. A report was subsequently lodged at the nearby police outpost. Police have not ruled out the possibility that the baby could belong to a foreigner. State CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Wan Abdullah Tuanku Said said they were now investigating the matter, adding that those with information should call the Rakan COP hotline (04-2691999). In Bukit Mertajam, a foetus was found floating at the Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) garbage trap station in Taman Sukun Indah near he

Joke

Adapted from The Star written by Vance Carson " Whether it is used in the process of making new friends or breaking the ice at parties and business meetings, having a good sense of humour and the ability to crack a joke is an asset to social interaction. Laughing at a person who slips on a banana skin or who receives a cream pie in the face are things most humans snigger at once in a while. Whether or not it is mature or moral to laugh at others, we just can’t help ourselves. A drunken man falls on his bottom, and we laugh before we run to his aid. It is the wicked side of human nature, but a side which also keeps us sane. If we don’t laugh, we go mad. Therefore, it is an important part of learning a language and understanding a different culture that we come to grips with the jokes, gaffes, pranks and all manner of witty asides which we may encounter. Aside from the rather more slapstick events which we find amusing, jokes or amusing comments can help others to warm to us. How

Air Stewardess...

A wonder job. Get to travel and get paid at the same time. Last Saturday, I saw a vacancy as an air stewardess which requires minimum height of 156cm. At last, an airline company that would accept a person my height (OK, you know my height. I know I'm short but I'm proud of my height) There aren't many airlines that requirement is lenient. I have thought of trying out the interview. So I asked Seng Yu, an air stewardess, about the details of being one. The packages are interesting, but I think I'm going to wait for the next round of interview. Ain't it wonderful, getting to travel without paying and yet being paid for it. I love to travel. Unfortunately for my height, or else I would have been air stewardess a long time ago and I don't have to waste my time studying so much and being so frustrated with my current company. I may not be ale to be an air stewardess, but I will try out the interview no matter what. Like everyone said to me, if you never try, there w

New burger line

Image
McDonalds, the famous fast food in burger line. I'm sure whenever Penangites go to KL, most of us want to catch a bite of Burger King. It is said to be nicer than McDonalds. Probably because we do not have it in Penang, so we look for other choice of fast food. There is another burger outlet in KL that is as good as Burger King. Maybe because I'm tired of eating Burger King everytime going to KL, WH and I tried a new burger outlet, Carl's Jr in The Pavilion, KL even after we had our lunch (just to try the taste of it). It is really nice, nicer than BK. The fries are crispy, the burger is big and the drink is refillable even for the small and medium set. (BK refill for drinks is only applicable for large set I think). Western Bacon something combo If you are not a big eater, share it with someone else. This burger is big. Just look at the size of the burger. The fries and the drink are small portion. The bacon is good though ;) There is another burger outlet that is curre

New skin again

Image
I have changed my blog skin. I think this is much better, more simple and won't have interruption if anyone of you using Internet Explorer. The previous skin is best view using Firefox. I have tried using my IE to view but I couldn't see the picture shown on the top left. Also, that skin have quite a problem for my Firefox. Anyway, this skin isn't that bad right? Hehe. The song you are listening to currently is a very cute song. Sang by Malaysian Chao Ge, not sure about the song's title. Do listen to the whole song especially the second part where he speak in Cantonese. It's kinda funny ;) Enjoy the song....

Bowling marathon

On the end of the month, my company will be having a bowling tournament for the employees. So, these few days I went on with some practice as not to feel embarrassed on that day. Yesterday, again, we were practicing for some throw. All the while, we bought games as we scared that if we buy the game by hourly, we wouldn't be able to play so many games. But yesterday, we tried on the hourly rate. Ends up, we played 11 games all together in just 1 hour. 5 and a half each *sweat*. So much better and cheaper than playing by game rate. But of course, we hardly spare some time in between. We just throw and throw and throw. Half way through the game, some delinquents came to fight outside the bowling center. Go a hell out of me. We were at he lane nearest to the fight. So scary. An uncle was fainted because of the impact of being hit by several people using helmet. These people... so uncivilized. Sad to see...

Concert

Image
Last weekend WH and I went to Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil to attend Nicholas Teo (Zhang Dong Liang)’s concert. Although he is not a very good at dancing, he did his best to make his concert successful. It was a good one, really. The concert started of with his theme song, the song that a composer (don’t really know what is his name) wrote for him specially for this concert. To be true, the song is nice. Look at the video below that I have uploaded at YouTube. But it’s not the whole song (my hand hurts for holding up the camera too long). His special guest, our very own female singer, Fish Leong came out just after he sang one of her songs. Then they duet, singing an English song (I don’t remember what song is that :P). Then she did her solo for her latest song "Cong Pai" (see the second video). Zhang Dong Liang dancing away Fish Leong singing her new song MyFM DJs where playing games with audi ence outside the stadium and giving away Nicholas Teo’s concert tickets before the c

I'm getting married

Yes... I am getting married this year. Our reception and wedding dinner will be held somewhere in December. Everything is still in discussion. Any progress, I will let everyone to know. ;)
